IUCN Member Organisations and Institutions have been invited to propose names for the positions of President, Treasurer and Chairs of IUCN’s Commissions and to nominate candidates for Regional Councillor, for the period 2016-2020. IUCN Commission members may also propose names for the position of Chairs of Commissions.
Such proposals and nominations must be submitted to the Election Officer, Justice Michael Wilson, who will ensure that the requirements for each position established in the IUCN Statutes and Regulations are met. The proposals for President, Treasurer and Commission Chairs, meeting the requirements will be forwarded to the Nominations Committee of the Council for consideration. The valid candidacies for Regional Councillor will be posted on the Union Portal.
The candidates for each position, along with background information on each of them, will then be presented to and voted on by Members at the World Conservation Congress, which will take place in Hawai‘i from 1-10 September 2016.
